We love hiking. So you’ll see a lot of hikes on my website.
Just a quick note here to prepare for any hikes to be as safe as possible. We always take things like enough water & a filter to be able to get more, proper shoes, a good first aid kit, sun screen, bug spray, snacks, fully charged phones and layers for clothing, depending where we are. We also always tell someone where we’re hiking and when we should be returning.
We research how difficult and long hikes are to see if we can do them. We also try to find posts describing hikes to see if we feel safe taking our children. Some are much scarier than others. We check to see what kind of permits we may or may not need. Checking the weather before starting a hike is smart too. There are lots of websites that go into more detail about hiking and what to take. They are good to check to make sure we have everything we need.
I really like the AllTrails website to help decide if hikes are right for us. But I also know a lot of people who post on there are big hikers. So finding normal people’s blog reviews is helpful too!
