Redwoods & more

I absolutely loved seeing the Redwoods! They are one of my favorite things I’ve ever seen. There is no way to describe how small I felt next to them. It was an amazing experience. We stayed in Brookings, OR when we saw these areas and made day trips into California. We took this trip the summer of 2021.

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park

We did the 0.5 mile Stout Grove hike. It was really busy, but the trees were gigantic and amazing. Driving along the Howland Hill Road was wonderful too. There would be places where two giant Redwood trees were on either side of us on the road and it was so cool.

We also did the Boy Scout Tree Trail. It was 5.6 miles out and back; but we did about 1-1.5 miles of it before turning back. It was beautiful.

We hiked the Simpson-Reed Trail too. It was 1 mile. It was amazing as well.

Trees of Mystery (Klamath, CA)

It had a gondola ride to the top of the mountain. There was a tree top trail that was cool. There were some huge Redwoods.

Klamath Tour Thru Tree (Klamath, CA)

It was nerve wrecking. The minivan almost didn’t fit. We had to fold in the mirrors. It is cool to say we did it though.

Ocean World (Crescent City, CA)

Part of it was in an old ship. The coolest part was getting to pet a shark! The seal and sea lion show was fun too.
