Day Trips from London
Harry Potter Studio Tour
We all loved this tour! Getting there was a bit of an adventure. We took the underground to Euston Station. Then we went across the street to an above ground station to Waterford Jct. Then once we were in Waterford Junction we took the studio's double decker bus to the studio. It did drop us back off at the end too. We had all wanted to ride on a double decker bus, so that was fun. Getting there sounds harder than it was. Google Maps got us to the right stations with no problems.
The Harry Potter Studio Tour was one of the coolest things we did. The very beginning was talking and a video about the tour that was kind of boring; but then it got way better. We got to see so many sets like the kitchen at the Burrow, The Great Hall, a Potions classroom, Gringotts (so cool), the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid’s Hut, Dumbledore’s Office, The Hogwarts Express and more. We got to ‘ride’ a broomstick with a green screen behind us. People watching could see you ‘flying’ over the castle, playing quidditch, etc. It was very cool. I kind of wish I’d bought the photos. At the time I thought it was pricey, but they would be cool to have. There was a part that was outside with the car, the night bus, green house, bridge and such, but a lot was inside.
We weren’t a fan of the food we got, but the butterbeer was good.
Back in 2004 I got to go to London. Here are a couple of things from that trip that I’d add to this list.
Bath
We took a day trip there from London. I remember thinking it was a very cool place! I loved seeing the Roman Baths. I would definitely go there again.
It was a long day though. We stopped at Stonehenge first. If I were to go to Bath from London again, I think I’d want to stay the night in Bath.
Stonehenge
We took a day trip there from London on our way to Bath. It was interesting to see.
