Kansas City

Science City (2019)

It was huge & pretty interesting. It was definitely geared toward kids. There were lots of hands-on activities. Our daughter (7) enjoyed a lot of it, but our middle son (5) loved it. The part they liked the most was a 'Mister E Hotel”. Each room had different illusions in it that were weird or cool. There was a water area that was a big hit too.

Lego Land (2019)

Lego Land was cool. It wound up having two rides, which was a surprise to us. The kids really liked them. There were some Lego creations to see that were fun. They had C3PO & R2D2 (Star Wars) that we could take pictures with and some others too. Would I go back? Probably not. But it was fun once.

Sea Life Aquarium (2019)

It was kind of disappointing if you compare it to an amazing aquarium like at the Omaha Zoo (Nebraska). It had a few cool exhibits, like turtles and a touch pool, but it was just okay.

Museum at Prairiefire (2019)

It seemed cool when we walked in. It had all this colored glass & a huge T-Rex skeleton in the entry. That was the coolest part...Well there was a 5 minute virtual reality thing that was pretty sweet too. It was like we were in the space station and looking down at Earth & seeing outer space. We all thought that was very cool. But there wasn’t a lot else to do.

Ernie Miller Nature Center (2024)

I thought it was a nice short hike with a pretty creek.

Museum of Illusions (2024)

We’d seen a lot of the same illusions in Brussels, Belgium when we did the one there, but there was some new stuff too. It was smaller, seemed less taken care of and was not as well done as the one in Belgium. So, if you’ve been to one somewhere else, there might be some repeats. It is still a fun thing to do, even more so if it is your first time.

Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Garden (2024)

It was okay. There were very few flowers and the trails were swarming with bugs so we didn’t really stay on the trails. Maybe they’re less buggy in a different season. We went at the end of May. The main area was pretty.
