Omaha Zoo

This is a great zoo. It has a very cool jungle building, a desert building, and a wonderful aquarium all very close to the entrance. Farther in they have animals like lions, giraffes, tigers, gorillas and such. There is a train that you can ride too. We loved getting to touch sting rays. It looks like that is closed right now (2025) though for their safety.

Fun Plex

This is a summer activity. It has a pool, go karts, waterslides, bumper boats, a lazy river and more. We had a lot of fun when we went.

Half Priced Book Store

This is a big used book store that we liked going to.

Chippy’s

This is a store that sells British foods and gifts. It has a small menu of food to order as well.

Our 5 year old and 11 year old sons loved it when we went. Our 13 year old daughter didn’t like it as much.

Here are a few of the places you can see a show or comedian in Omaha.

Orpheum

I saw a show here once. We sat pretty high up and still had a good view of the stage and could hear well. It was a nice theater for a performance.

The Funny Bone

Steelhouse Omaha

We saw a comedy show here. The seating was mostly all on a flat floor with folding chairs. I could see most of it, but if the performer was in certain spots; then the people in front of me blocked some of it. Security was quick. They did have a clear bag policy when we went. They had a bar; but we didn’t have a drink that evening. They did not have a way to get a cup of water, just an expensive can of water that I declined.

Lauritzen Gardens

We went in February 2024, so we only got to see the indoor places. They had a cool Lego dinosaur thing going on. So there were Lego dinosaurs in with the plants. The kids really liked that. The indoor places were pretty. I would like to go back sometime to see what the outdoor areas are like when it is nice out.
